To drive MDS research to a cure significant funds need to be raised, and the faster those funds are raised the faster the research goes.

CURE MDS has years of experience in this area.

We know this critically important fact: the only way funds are raised for research on a rare disease is when families affected by that disease take action and fundraise from their networks.

We implore you not to wait.

The MDS community needs to take action in greater numbers and with more energy and commitment than ever before to make this promising research happen.

FUNDRAISING

The first thing to do is contact RSRT’s chief development officer, Tim Freeman, by phone (609.309.5676) or email tim@curemds.org. He’ll brainstorm with you and get you started with one of these effective ways to fundraise:

  • Crowdfunding on RSRT’s own platform: RettGive

  • On Facebook? You can start a campaign today: CureMDS Facebook Fundraiser

  • Start an event: an event can be anything you envision, from a backyard barbecue to a happy hour to a gala. As learned during the COVID pandemic, the event can be virtual.

  • Send emails or letters to your network: Tim can help you draft it.

  • Know someone who is philanthropic or has a foundation? Tim can work with you on a plan of action.

  • Donate: giving yourself not only supports the research but also lets your network know that you’re behind this.

Remember, most people give away money. Your network will gladly contribute to MDS research, but only if you take action and ask them in one of these ways. If you don’t, they’ll just give their money somewhere else. Imagine the impact you can have on this research if you take action.

All funds raised are directly deposited into the Rett Syndrome Research Trust CureMDS Fund. The Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT) is a registered non-profit organization, and all donations are fully tax deductible. 100% goes to fund research.

RSRT's tax ID number is 26-0687439
